By the end of the course you will feel informed about the physiology of birth, equipped with techniques for managing labour pain, and tools for how to make informed decisions during your pregnancy and birth.

  • Hypnobirthing is for every person and every birth. Whether you plan to have your baby in hospital or at home, if you or have an induction or caesarean birth.  Even if you have been labelled as high risk or either you or your baby has medical conditions or special circumstances you can still use hypnobirthing and may benefit even more so!

  • Hypnosis often conjures up images of swinging pocket watches and going under but in reality it’s a safe and widely respected practice. In hypnobirthing we learn and practice the skills of self hypnosis so you are always in control.

    Hypnobirthing works to eliminate fear and build confidence surrounding birth through self hypnosis.  Hypnosis induces deep relaxation in our body and mind and where we are then able to send messages to our subconscious mind. When we are in hypnosis our neo-cortex (thinking part of the brain) where we are really alert and aware and sensitive to everything around us is switched off allowing us to focus inwardly and be in tune with our body.

     

    The biggest inhibitor to smooth comfortable birth is our over-thinking and highly sensitive human brain. Thats because it influences what hormones are released into our body and our hormones determine our reaction and feelings.

    Hypnosis allows the body and mind to be in a relaxed state during childbirth and that’s the perfect place to be to let birth unfold most effectively- everything is better when we are calm, happy and relaxed right?

    The unconscious could be influenced by:

    Thats why unlearning and reprogramming the subconscious part of our mind is so important.  Hypnosis and the repetition of it, is the perfect tool for this and so helpful in getting your mind in the right place.

    So much of birth prep is focused on the conscious mind when actually birth is largely driven from the unconscious mind. Hypnobirthing is the only form of birth preparation that works on subconscious level, reframing our core beliefs on birth, this has a big impact on our experience of it.

    Positive not perfect

    Hypnobirthing focuses on positive birth - rather than perfect. Birth can be unpredictable sometimes but the aim is for you to come out of it feeling good about the experience on a whole with sense of empowerment and control in the situation.

    Hypnobirthing can't guarantee you a perfect birth but it certainly will:
